1958 CANBERRA ART CLUB INVITATION TO WINFRED WEST OPENING OF THEADEN HANCOCK PAINTINGS

I knew Lady Hancock as the wife of Sir Keith Hancock (ANU) and also Winfred West, founder of Sturt at Mittagong, a pioneer in the formation of the craft workshops adjacent to Frensham Girl’s School. I met her just before she died of cancer around 1960 and the Canberra Art Club asked me to design this invitation when it exhibited her work.
