198? Sculpture at Parker’s, Lanner

Maxine and I were in England in 198? And stayed with Roger and Sheila Parker in Lanner, near Redruth, Cornwall. Roger had a lump of English oak which he kindly let me carve into a sculpture. It is really non-representational but can be intuited as a hand with fingers and thumb.

It was all carved in a couple of days in a draughty little farm building behind their house with only a plane, chisel and mallet.

I gave it to them when we left for home.
