This came out of the blue and was, I think in recognition of the researches I had carried out on how to retrofit an existing house (Mawson) to make it more energy efficient and more livable – and perhaps writing my first book about the experience
of living in it – “Making your home sustainable” – still in print and referred to.
At last count I have documented about 22 separate remedial measures I have designed and constructed on the Mawson house where Maxine and I have lived since 1991. As I write this in November 2015 I can look around at these changes
and say “yes, it was all worth it”. See ARCHITECTURE section – 1991-2015 MAWSON RETROFIT DOCUMENT.
