2008 Reflector – 6m long – Red Hill

This homeowner had a small flat with a kitchen facing south. It was cold and dark but they ate most of his meals in there.

The reflectors changed the kitchen into a very cheerful room for their remaining years. Thry kept some temperature recordings for me and around 2 o’clock he achieved a max. of 12º rise above normal – due, partially to the small volume of the completely enclosed kitchen.

A most successful installation. Their living room temperature was slightly lower but sunlit.

The photo shows the solar image which was longer than the window to allow for the early morning and late afternoon solar lateral displacements.

The sloping roof created some visual relativity problems with the horizontal reflector but in general it wasn’t too bad.
