1954 LETTERHEAD FOR SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE & BUILDING, University of Technology (later ka) University of New South Wales

While lecturing in the School of Architecture (1948 – 1957) my name as a graphic designer was gaining ground and various pro bono letterhead designs came my way.

Design as my profession was going beyond architecture and the all-round totality of design was emerging in my mind – no doubt stimulated by my discussion with Michael Farr in London during my 1951 round-world trip between my first two houses OB1 and OB2.

Total design had sown its seed and my move to the ANU Design Unit to join Fred Ward in 1957 was to provide much fuel to the fire.
