A prototype steel rod and cord dining chair for use at DeeWhy. A very successful chair – not very original – Clem Meadmore borrowed the idea from the USA and I borrowed it from him.
I was to meet him at Shirley’s wedding in Melbourne to George Kral in 1954.
This photo shows yet another way of eliminating the sill between glass and floor (see also the rock /glass junction at the north wall). The large glass sheet above the chair slides to the left on ball bearings (Cowdroy track). (see other photo)
This view is looking east to the sea (just to the left) – the horizon was often used as a spirit level when I was building the house.
